CV

  • Associate Professor, University of Bordeaux (France)
  • Ph.D.Physiology, University of Montpellier (France)Short biography :
Cecile Cabasson is a associate professor of Plant Physiology at Bordeaux University from 2000. Her work focuses specifically on the fruit metabolism and physiology and their impact on the growth, biomass production and nutritional quality. Her favorite place to do research is INRAE, in the research team Metabolism, which collaborate with several professional instituts (INVENIO, ASTHREDOR, CTIFL…).
She teachs plant biology and biostatistics at the University of Bordeaux. She is a member of MetaboHUB Bordeaux, a facility dedicated to metabolomics of plants and involved in the the French Metabolomics and Fluxomics network RFMF.
She was assistant Professor, Univ. Bordeaux, in the research team in process engineering of Périgueux (1999), assistant Professor, Univ. Montpellier , in the research team in horticultural plant at INRA Avignon (1994), PhD, Univ. Montpellier, in the research team BIOTROP at CIRAD (1990-1993). She was awarded the Dufrenoy fellowship from Académie d’Agriculture de France for her work on the citrus hybridization in collaboration of the professor Jude Grosser at the CREC, Gainsville University, USA (1992).

RESEARCH TOPIC

As a plant physiologist, I study how plants adjust their metabolism during fruit developmental processes and in response to a fluctuating environment by extensively exploiting metabolomics to a range of fruit species (tomato, citrus, kiwi, prunus…). My current research at INRAE Bordeaux particularly focuses on fruit photosynthesis. For more information please visit our Metabolism Team Homepage.
